Walking Tour: Shoreditch – A Journey Through Time
We invite you to join us for a walking tour around of the most exciting and trendiest areas of London, with Blue Badge Tour Guide, and Circle Square member, Isabelle Seddon.
From 1600 to the present day, we’ll take in Shoreditch’s rich history. Highlights will include: London’s first theatre where Shakespeare’s plays were performed; Britain’s first social housing estate; the old workshops and warehouses that that were once the centre of the furniture industry (and which English Heritage consider are the best preserved of their kind in England); and a visit to Museum of the Home (formerly the Geffrye Museum) where there will be an opportunity to explore the changing shape of domestic interiors over the last 400 years.

About Isabelle Seddon
Isabelle has lived in lived in London for many years where she has worked as a counsellor and dramatherapist, working with a wide range of people and ages.
She has a doctorate on the history of London’s East End and British theatre and she gives all her tours a sense of performance! She specialises in the East End of London (she has published a book on the history of the area) and loves to bring its revolutionaries, reformers, gangsters and refugees to life. She leads tours of all the main tourist sites as well as the Jewish East End, Shoreditch and Hoxton, Wapping, Hampstead, Bloomsbury , medieval Clerkenwell, King’s Cross and Notting Hill Gate. She loves to show the highlight destinations but if there is time, she will always slip in somewhere a little off-beat –even the very centre of London has lots of hidden gems. Isabelle also has a T-guide qualification for guiding people with intellectual and learning difficulties.
