Help Advance Friends of the Earth’s Vital Legal Work
On behalf of our green charity partner, Friends of the Earth, we invite you to an evening with renowned human rights lawyer Imran Khan QC for an update on the organisation’s ground-breaking legal work. Hear news of their precedent-setting achievements over the past year and learn how their dedicated Legal team continue to fight for long-term, big picture change to protect our environment at this crucial time.
The country’s leading environmental campaigning lawyers will share the inside scoop from their recent landmark WIN against the government’s woeful Net Zero strategy, the unique Phil Michaels Legal Interns Scholarship Fund, plus cases fighting the massive gas project in Mozambique, the disastrous new coal mine in Cumbria and oil development in Horse Hill, Surrey.
Keynote speaker Imran Khan QC, is a leading human rights and criminal lawyer. A relentless trailblazer for social and racial justice, Imran is probably best known for representing the Stephen Lawrence family during the private prosecution, inquest, and public inquiry into Stephen’s murder. More recently, he’s represented bereaved families and survivors of the Grenfell fire at the public inquiry. Imran will share the importance of using the law to further social justice, and how it could relate to our fight for environmental justice.
Join Imran, Friends of the Earth Co-Executive Director Miriam Turner, plus their legal team and Phil Michaels legal interns for light refreshments and drinks. There will be opportunities to meet members of the environmental campaigning law community and learn more about how you can help further their vital and successful work.
