2000 Years of Architecture Tour with Sam Jacobs
Join us for a walking tour to explore 2000 years of Architecture with London Guide, Sam Jacobs.
We will begin our walk around the city at the Roman Wall, exploring buildings that represent various periods in London’s history along with the architectural styles associated with those times.
Our journey will include visits to buildings from the Roman, Anglo-Saxon, Norman, Medieval, Baroque, Georgian, Victorian, Edwardian, Brutalist, and other architectural styles. During the tour, we will also spot Doric, Ionic and Corinthian columns – always a favourite!
We’ll enjoy works by British architects such as Wren, Hawksmoor, Richard Rogers, John Soane, Lutyens, Baker, Norman Foster, Eric Parry, and Terry Farrell.
For those interested in the subject, Pevsner’s “Buildings of England – City of London” and Simon Jenkins’ “A Short History of British Architecture” are good background reading.
TICKET PRICE: £12 per head for Circle Square members / £18 per head for non-members
