We invite you to join us on a walking tour around two of the most vibrant areas of London, Shoreditch and Hoxton, with author and Blue Badge Tour Guide, Dr Isabelle Seddon.

From Elizabethan times to the present day, we’ll take in Shoreditch’s rich history. Highlights will include: London’s first theatre where Shakespeare’s plays were performed; Britain’s first social housing estate; the old workshops and warehouses that were once the centre of the furniture industry and which English Heritage consider are the best preserved of their kind in England.  We will also walk through part of Hoxton, known for its creative atmosphere and pass by one of the oldest garden squares in London, finishing with a visit to Museum of the Home (formerly the Geffrye Museum) where there will be an opportunity to explore the changing shape of domestic interiors over the last 400 years.
